OUR GOOD LUCK CHARM
On January 6, 1928 in Bridgewater, Vermont Wilbur and Agnes Blanchard gave birth to "Our Good Luck Charm" Winona "Nona" Kennedy!
Winona attended Woodstock High School; prior to graduation she entered the work force. A few years later she completed her diploma with excellent scores. Soon after, she found the love of her life, Raymond Kennedy! Raymond and his "Good Luck Charm" Nona would Vow their love by joining their hearts in marriage on June 2, 1956! During their 60 years of marriage, Nona would display her gentle love while raising their six children who she instilled humility in by beating the pants off in any card game imaginable! Nona taught the gift of unconditional love to those six angels while her love, Raymond was busy building the best highways in three states!
Nona loved her BINGO time was and accomplished marksman/deer hunter who loved going for rides on off-road adventures in search of her and Raymond's next camping, fishing or swimming retreat! Nona enjoyed taking long drives cross-country with Raymond to visit family or just spend the night under God's beautiful starlit skies! Nona loved to go up to Coolidge State Park and dam, or just have a picnic at the chimney in Shrewsbury!
Nona had a gift of not only teaching, but spreading The Picture of Love, and a genuine care towards anyone she came across! Nona enjoyed helping feed those who were hungry or less fortunate. She also routinely prepared food for our heroes in the Community Fire and Rescue Departments! Through her life, Nona worked at the Bridgewater Woolen Mill, Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co., the Bridgewater Diner, the Robert F. Lewis Bible Bindery and the Buschenkirt family.! Nona loved spreading joy by going on door-yard calls, crocheting, embroidering, working in the garden, picking black berries, or just making the families favorite pickles!
In June 2006, Nona and Raymond renewed their commitment and unconditional love for each other while celebrating 50 years of unity! A short time later, Raymond fell ill, and Nona stepped into high gear to nurse him back to health. Soon after, Raymond began to get stronger, however now his Lucky Charm fell ill! Raymond with his gentle love for his Nona was able to take care of his Beautiful Bride whom took care of him through the years! Winona, our "Lucky Charm" is still in our hearts and mind, the most important Homemaker, Mother and Wife, and still Raymond's Soulmate. After years of tending to many grandchildren and her loving family, "Winona", "Our Lucky Charm", "Nona" was called home!
Nona joins her daughter Jane and is survived by, the most loyal, loving and kind-hearted husband Raymond Kennedy, and their children: Ella (Tom) Roberts, Allen (Vicky) Young, William (Vicky) Young, Raymond Jr. (Joni) Kennedy, Randy (Heather) Kennedy; Followed by her grandchildren: Jeff (Karin) Roberts, Joyce Roberts, Michael Young, Mark (Maia) Young, Allen (Valerie) Young, Christina (Eric Sweeney), Kristopher (Bridgette) Young, William (Linda) Young, Kori (Scott Schwartz), Justin (Katrina) Kennedy, Francis Oldenburg and Olivia (Jeff Aldrich); 44 Great Grandchildren and 9 Great-Great Grandchildren!
