William Dutton Lockwood, 88, died early Sunday morning at the Brookside Nursing Home in White River Jct., VT.
Mr. Lockwood was born on January 7, 1923 in Woodstock, VT the son of Charles Dutton and Edith Frances (Morse) Lockwood.
Mr. Lockwood spent his entire life living in Woodstock and was dedicated to his siblings and family. He worked on the family farm and work for more years than anyone can remember at the Riverside Cemetery. He enjoyed relaxing after a hard day and visiting with family.
He is survived by a sister Edith Morse Stevens of Bridgewater Corners, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He is pre deceased by 3 brothers, Harvey, Charles, and George, 4 sisters, Hazel Tracey, Ruth Reid, Frances Merrill, and Lucy Madden.
A graveside service will be held in the Riverside Cemetery in Woodstock on Saturday September 10, 2011 at 2:00 pm. The Rev. Norman M. MacLeod, Rector of St. James Episcopal Church will officiate. There will be no calling hours.
