Wesley D. Alexander, 86, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 14, 2016 surrounded by his family.
Wesley was born October 3, 1929 to Carroll and May (Kinsman) Alexander on the family farm in West Windsor, VT. He graduated from Windsor High School in 1948 and served in the United States Army from 1951 to 1953. He married Joyce (Earl) on April 30, 1955. Wesley spent his life living and working on the family dairy farm on Rush Meadow Road. Wesley also worked a number of years as a machinist at Cone Blanchard in Windsor, Vt. He most recently enjoyed his work as caretaker of a neighboring home and property.
Mr. Alexander took great pride in serving the town of West Windsor over the years. He served as Treasurer of the West Windsor Historical Society from the time it was founded. Wesley had a lifelong interest in genealogy and lovingly passed his great love of history onto his children and grandchildren, often sharing stories about his parents and grandparents and how they settled in West Windsor.
Wesley was happiest spending time with his grandchildren, often sitting upon his 1959 John Deere tractor or walking with them in the woods. He also enjoyed tending to his beloved raspberry patch. In his later years Wesley enjoyed watching his sons Darry and Dennis hay the fields around the farm.
Wesley is survived by his wife of 61 years, Joyce of West Windsor, VT, his sons, Darry of West Windsor, VT, Keith and his wife Denise of Claremont, NH, Dennis and his wife Donna of West Windsor, VT, his daughter Vicki LaFlamme and her husband Todd of Pomfret, VT, eight grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and many special nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, his sisters Geneva Temple, Iva Bowley, and Eula Magoon, and a brother Wendell.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday June 25 at 1:00pm at the Shedsville Cemetery in West Windsor. Arrangements are under the direction of the Cabot Funeral Home in Woodstock, VT. An online guestbook can be found at cabotfh.com.
