Shon Powell, who died to young on July 5, 2022 at his home in Bridgewater, Vermont
Shon was born April 25, 1971, to Arnold Powell and Ginny (Hutt) Powell. Shon graduated from WUHS in 1989. After High School, Shon worked as a groomer on the Equestrian circuit. He had a great love for horses, and a special connection with them. He was a very successful groomer and won awards with the horses he worked with. During this time he worked Summers in Connecticut and winters in West Palm Beach, FL, plus being selected to travel to Europe with the World Cup. Shon used his talents and passion to revitalized his old family home and enjoyed spending time sitting by the river and opened this home up to all those that wanted to share in his generosity.
After returning to Vermont he worked for his Father learning the plumbing trade, and earned his Master Plumbing License. He later opened his own plumbing business. Shon also had a great love of music. He and his best friends, Pete Goulazian and Rob Merrill, started their own bands. He love attending many music festivals with his friends, making friendships that lasted forever. Shon plumbed during the week, and played gigs on the weekends. He loved his Corgi's, kayaking, playing cribbage, reading books, cooking, art, and photography.
He was predeceased by his mother, Ginny, and his brother-in-law, John Lynds. Shon is survived by his father, Arnie, stepmother Betty Powell, his siblings, Stacey Lynds and Christopher Powell, and by stepsisters, Lisa Kelley, Linda Prine, Robyn Goode, his step brothers Daniel Putnam and James B. Sing, and his wife Robin Colwell Powell. Also survived by nieces, Elyssa Lynds, Natalie Powell and Larken Goode, and nephew Gaige Powell all of whom he dearly loved, and his beloved Corgi, Loki. He is survived by Aunts, Uncles and Cousins. He was especially close to cousins Jeremy Prior and Andy Prior, and many very special life long friends.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday July 16 th in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Bridgewater, Vermont beginning at 11:00am
