Scott B. Kinne, 56, died early Friday morning August 28, 2015 at the Gifford Medical Center following a courageous battle with cancer.
Scott was born on July 17, 1959 in Attleboro, MA the son of Benjamin E. and Elizabeth (White) Kinne.
Scott graduated from Woodstock Union High School on June 14, 1978. Eventually he went to work for A.W. Frizzell and Sons helping to build custom homes in the area. After 15 years with A.W. Frizzell Scott started his own roofing business which he ran for 20 years. He later worked at the Woodstock Inn and Suicide Six, becoming the assistant Mountain Manager. Scott and Garren Goodwin spent a great deal of time caring for the ski mountain in Pomfret and the people that came to enjoy the area.
Scott was very involved with the St. James Episcopal Church, serving many years as the chairman of the famous church fair and as Junior Warden. He was recently honored at St. James by the Vermont Diocese for his dedication to the church and the people of the Woodstock area.
Scott is survived by wife Beverly Kinne, 5 children; James Kinne, Michelle (Kinne) Zsido, Leonard Duprey, Cynthia (Kinne) Brault and, Benjamin James Kinne, 4 grandsons; Isaac Brault, Brandon Brault, Leonard Duprey, Jr., and Ethan Duprey, his sister Sue Harlow, brother Joel Kinne, and many nieces and nephews
A memorial service will be held on Monday August 31st at 3:00pm at St. James Episcopal Church in Woodstock.
