Obituary

Ruth Page (Mori) Morgan passed away peacefully at her home on April 8, 2014, with her husband and daughters by her side. She died of Leiomyosarcoma cancer. Ruth was 54 years old. Ruth was a deeply loved and loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend. She had a beautiful ready smile for all she met. She was born in Glen Cove, New York to Albert and Dorothy (Wyman) Mori on December 20, 1959. Ruth graduated from Manhasset High School and attended Wheaton College. She lived in Concord, Massachusetts, where she and her first husband had three daughters. Ruth and the girls moved to Hanover, N.H. in 1989 where she spent the next 14 years. She met her future husband, Steve Morgan, in 1994 and the two were married in July 2001. With her radiant disposition, unwavering optimism, and warm heart, Ruth worked in education at The Bernice A. Ray School and Crossroads Academy and later as a case manager at the Upper Valley Haven where she was an advocate for all ages and backgrounds. She also had fond memories of summers working with special needs children. When recently asked her favorite occupation, without hesitation Ruth replied, "Grandmother." Ruth and Steve shared a marriage filled with love, laughter, many adventures and long walks. They were partners in life and best friends. They took trips throughout North America and visited Ruth's sister in Italy. Happiest with her toes in the sand and her face tilted towards the sun, Ruth had a special place in her heart for the island Eleuthera. Ruth referred to her three daughters as her "girlie girls" and was an extraordinarily devoted mother and friend. Ruth's strength, positivity and terrific sense of humor were apparent to all who knew her and she was proud to have instilled these qualities into her legacies. She considered raising her daughters her greatest accomplishment. Ruthie will be greatly missed. Survivors include her husband Steve Morgan of South Royalton; three daughters, Christina Finigan Nihan of Manhattan NY, Holly Finigan of Nantucket MA, and Sanna Finigan McAuliffe of Boston MA; granddaughter, Ava Page Nihan; mother Dorothy Mori of West Lebanon; sister Nina Mori Gorini of Florence, Italy; brother, Stephen L. Mori of Huntington NY; and two nephews, Alberto and Giorgio Gorini. Ruth was predeceased by her father, Albert H. Mori. There will be a private graveside burial. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made directly to the Visiting Nurse & Hospice of Vermont & New Hampshire, 66 Benning Street Suite 6, West Lebanon, NH 03784.
