After a lengthy battle with Parkinson's disease, Ronald Roy Schmidt of Woodstock, VT, passed away on August 18, 2020, at the age of 80 years.

Ron is survived by his children: daughter Linda; son Roy (Sachi); three grandchildren: John (Brittaney), Momoka and Rikuo; sister, Gayla; as well as numerous loving relatives and friends.

Ron was predeceased by his wife Kazuko; son, David; sister, Vicky; and brothers, Milton and Mark.

Of the many places Ron lived, he considered the Tulsa, OK, region his true home, but he also enjoyed his experiences living in DeWitt, IA; Oklahoma City, OK; and Dallas, TX. Ron also served in Turkey in the US Army during the Vietnam era.

He was a CPA, early in his career handling accounting for the popular regional Shotgun Sam's pizza chain. After discovering computers and learning programming, he started a software services company with his friend and helped clients with custom accounting systems until he retired.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the team at Woodstock Terrace for their kindness and care during the last few months.

With the pandemic restrictions, a private service will be held at a later date. In lieu of sending flowers, the family requests that you elect compassionate, rational candidates this November, and support your community with love and empathy. Stay safe and be kind.
