Roger Rice, 79, died Friday morning January 31, 2014 at Hanover Terrace in Hanover, New Hampshire.
Roger was born March 11, 1934 in Randolph, Vermont the son of Denzil and Mildred (Hadley) Rice.
Roger was educated in East Randolph, Vermont and spent many of his early years farming and doing carpentry work in the Randolph area. Roger served 4 years in the US Air force.
Roger married Lois Longe on Oct. 18, 1957 in Barre, Vermont together they moved to the Woodstock Area for rest of their lives. Roger worked from 1960-1995 as an Auto mechanics for A. & B. Motors. After retirement Roger worked as a greater at Walmart in Lebanon and also worked at the Woodstock Farmers Market, did small engine repair, yard sailing and collecting. Roger enjoyed family outings, riding and visiting in the Randolph area
Roger was a member of the Hartford Elks, VFW in White River, and the American Legion in Woodstock and White River.
Roger is survived by his wife Lois of W. Topsham, Vt.2 sons Patrick, Newport, NH, James and his wife Tammy, Springfield, Vt., 2 daughters Maron and her husband Perley, W. Topsham, Vt, Sara Beane, Shelton, Washington and her husband Charles, 8 Grandchildren, & 6 Great grandchildren
He is pre-deceased by 3 brothers, David, Gordon & Benjamin and 2 half-brothers Kenneth Batchler and Richard Goodell and 2 sisters Jaquline and Joan
A memorial service will be held this Saturday February 8th at the Cabot Funeral Home in Woodstock at 2 PM. Friends may call on the family for one hour prior to the service.
