Robert Joseph Kiely Sr., 90, passed away at his home in Quechee on February 14 ^th , 2022.

Robert was born in Cambridge, Massachusetts on July 13 ^th , 1931 to parents William F. Kiely and Edna (Kennedy) Kiely. He served in the Army including time in the Korean War. He eventually achieved a Master's Degree in Educational Leadership which led to a long career in education. This includes teaching in East Hartford, CT, and being a principle in Ashford then Windsor, CT. He also spent time as a sales manager for World Book Encyclopedia and as Executive Director of the Principles Association of Connecticut.

Robert loved to ski, bike, golf, and go camping which made moving to Quechee quite fitting. While living in Vermont he spent significant time volunteering, including the Special Olympics, Guardian ad Litem, V. A., and on the Board of Trustees for the Quechee Club. He thoroughly enjoyed the community of Quechee, attending regular social gatherings, always joined by his wife Virginia. Robert was also a life long Boston Red Sox fan.

Robert is predeceased by siblings William, John, Richard, and Janet.

Robert is survived by his wife Virginia and sister Ruth. Also by his children, Robert Jr. and wife Chris, Kathleen and husband Andrew, Jeffery and wife Christine; as well as six grandchildren, Jennifer, Tyler, Melissa, Gabriel, Laila, and Moki.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday March 5, 2022 at 11:00am at Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church in Woodstock, VT. A celebration of life and the Burial will take place this spring.
