Robert "Bob" Hanlon, 85, died peacefully on Wednesday afternoon March 26, 2025 after a long battle of Alzheimer, at the Jack Byrne Center in Lebanon, New Hampshire.
Bob was born 1 of 6 children on January 3, 1940, in Dover, New Jersey, the son of Jack and Mary (Lahout) Hanlon.
Following Bob's graduation from High School in 1957 he went on to serve in the US Navy in the submarines until 1960. When he returned home from the Navy, he went in to the New Jersey State Police Academy. In May of 1963 he married Patricia Rustic. Bob spent 25 years serving as a trooper for the state of New Jersey retiring as a Sergeant First Class in 1986 and moved to Vermont. Aside from his family Bob very much enjoyed skiing, golfing and fishing. Bob and Pat loved touring the Northeast on their motorcycles. His most joy came from touring in his Mercury Chopped Coup that he rebuilt himself from the ground up. Bob loved to work on cars
Bob is survived by his wife of 62 years Pat, his daughter Terry Gault, grandchildren; Travis, Shelby, Will, Ally, Scott Jr., and his great grandchildren; Max and Leo, and his close friend that was like another son, George Sevilis. In addition to his parents and siblings he is predeceased by a son Robert Scott.
