Richard Nielsen, 91, passed away peacefully on February 10 th , 2022 at home in Woodstock, Vermont.
Richard was born February 27 th , 1930 in Renton, Washington to parents Jacob and Marien Nielsen.
Richard grew up working on his family's dairy farm in Renton. His love for music, and skill on the violin earned him a spot on the Seattle Youth Symphony. He attended Renton High School and eventually completed two years at the University of Washington. Richard also served his country as a Medic in the Korean War. Upon returning, he spent time as a District Manager for Airborne Freight traveling back and forth from Washington to Alaska. He also held a job at Northwest Airlines as a ticketing agent. He then found himself moving to Vermont, first to Blake Hill in Woodstock, then to Corinth. He then moved back to Woodstock, where he was supported greatly by his sister, Margaret Nielsen. Richard remained an avid music lover and enjoyed social interactions with many visitors.
Richard is survived locally by his sister, Margaret Nielsen.
