It is with great sadness that we inform you of the loss of our wonderful husband, father, friend.

Ray was born in Hackensack, New Jersey on February 22, 1947 to Arthur C. Straight and Mary Tyrolt Straight.

Ray moved to Vermont in the early 1970's and worked at the Woodstock Inn for 34 years, loving every moment and all the people he met throughout the years. After retiring in 2005 he went to work for Bethel Mills until he finally retired again in 2015.

Ray was a special and wonderful person and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

He was predeceased by the parents, his sister Maryann, his nephew Russell, his father-in-law Thomas Bradley, and sisters-in-law Karen Lewis and Michelle Bradley.

He is survived by this loving wife of 36 years, Jayne, his son Steven, his daughter Jennifer, his grandchildren Ava Marie and Dustin, his step-mother Irena Straight, his mother-in-law Norma Bradley, his in-laws Butch Lewis, Barbara and Philip Frizzell, Steven Bradley and Nancy Haynes, Robert Bradley, and numerous friends, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Per Ray's request, there will be no services. His ashes will be spread along with his beloved dogs in the spring around the pond he loved so much at the farm.

In lieu of flowers, donations should be made to the Town of Bethel Volunteer Fire Department in Ray's memory.
