Raymond "Jack" Homer Stillson, 81, died early Saturday morning March 5th at the Brookside Nursing Home in White River Jct., Vermont.
Raymond was born on January 15, 1935 in Quechee, Vermont the son of Francis and Helen Davis (Chase) Stillson.
He attended Quechee Elementary and Woodstock High Schools. He entered into the United States Marine Corp in January of 1953 serving in Korea and finished his active service in January of 1956. Returning to the Upper Valley he married Charlotte Pippin on June 4, 1960 living in Lebanon until moving to Woodstock in 1964.
Raymond worked for a number of construction and painting companies in the Upper Valley before retiring from the VFW Post 2571 in White River in August of 2015.
Raymond enjoyed riding motorcycles, dancing, karaoke, coaching little league baseball, hunting, and watching his grandson play ice hockey.
He is survived by his daughter Carmen Chamberlin, his son Edward Stillson, and grandson Jonathan Chamberlin all of Woodstock, VT, a sister Tana Morrison of Windsor, VT, a brother Boyd Davis of Woodstock, VT and a number of cousins, nieces, and nephews
He is predeceased by parents, his wife, a brother Roger "Panda" Stillson, a sister Penny Davis, and his step parents Webster Davis and Margaret "Peg" Stillson.
A graveside service with military honors will be held on Friday May 20, 2016 at 1:00pm at the Vermont Veterans Cemetery in Randolph, Vermont.
