Peter David Hottenstein, 80, died on December 16, 2013 at the Mertens House in Woodstock, Vermont.

Peter was born on June 24, 1933 in Springfield, Pennsylvania the son of Edward Schroyer and Marie Louise (Cox) Hottenstein.

Peter graduated from Springfield (PA) High School in 1951 and then from Ursinus College in Collegeville, PA in 1955. He served in the US Navy as a blimp pilot for the next four years. On December 26, 1955 Peter married Sue C. Holmes. In 1962 he graduated from the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy.

Peter worked for 24 years at Smith, Kline, and French Laboratories in Philadelphia and then for Medical Center Pharmacy at Chester County Hospital in West Chester for 5 years. In 1989 Peter moved with his family to Vermont and began working for the Woodstock Pharmacy in Woodstock, Vermont were he was still working this fall.

When Peter was not working he could be found riding his tractor, working in his vegetable garden, or spending time with his family.

Peter is survived by his wife of 58 years, Sue, his three children and their spouses; Peter and Theresa of San Antonio, TX, Joyce and Tom of Rutland, VT, and Jean and Rendy of Hartland, VT, his 5 grandchildren; David, Jessica, Katie, Riley, and Parker, his great grandson Nathan, his brother Edward and his sister Emmy Lou.

A memorial service will be held on January 18, 2014 R 11:00 AM at the First Congregational Church of Woodstock in Woodstock, Vermont.
