Patricia "Patsy" Marie Zack, 72, died Sunday April 17th surrounded by her family.
Patsy was born October 2, 1943 in Albany, NY the daughter of John William and Marie (Hamilton) Cullen.
After graduating High School in Albany, Patsy went on to graduate from St. Peter's Hospital as a Registered Nurse. She moved to Boston working as a nurse for the Boston Edison, until she and her girlfriends decided to relocate to Killington. She began her adventure working, during the day at the Ski School desk and enjoying her nights at local watering holes. While enjoying one of those nights at the Wobbly Barn a dashing Sherriff named Howard "Howie" Zack checked her ID and stole her heart. They married soon after on April 15, 1972.
Patsy went on to establish her career at the Rutland Regional Medical Center spending the remainder of her professional life there. She was an avid volunteer and became an iatrical part of the Killington community. She was the elected to the board of Selectmen in Killington and found a passion for organizing the 4th of July Parade. In addition to enjoying her own flower gardens she was a member of the Dirty Girl's Garden Club, and loved dancing and marching with them in the annual parade. Her brilliant mind, crazy Irish spirit, infectious smile, & giving attitude was a gift to the community as well as to her family and friends.
Patsy is survived by her daughter Sarah Marie Zack Hewitt, her son Commander Joseph Matthew Zack, granddaughters; Avery Marie and Rollins Frances, brothers William and James Cullen, and her sister Maureen Zabatta. She is pre deceased by her husband Howie.
A memorial service will be held on Friday April 22nd at 3:00pm at the Sherburne United Church of Christ followed by a celebration of her life and time to share stories at the Foundry in Killington.
