Patricia L. Barton, 56, died at her home on Saturday evening February 8th in Reading, Vermont.

Pat was born on September 16, 1957 in Hanover, New Hampshire the daughter of David and Edna (Townsend) Luce.

Pat graduated from Woodstock Union High School in 1975. She worked at Springfield Savings and Loan for 17 years as a secretary/treasurer, the Parks & Wilson Co. in Springfield, the Rockingham Country Club, and most recently as a manager for the Woodstock Cookie Company.

Pat was well known in the area for her wedding cakes and for catering many weddings and other special occasions. She loved to bowl, hunt, and knit. She touched many lives.

Pat is survived by her husband of 20 years Edwin "Jigger" Barton of Reading, VT, 4 children; Dan Schaefer of Pomfret, VT, Lisa Gibbons and Tylar Barton both of Springfield, VT, and Travis Barton of Perkinsville, VT, 8 grandchildren, her parents, David and Edna of Pomfret, a sister Louise Blakney of Barnard, VT, and many nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held on Thursday February 13th from 6 to 8 PM at the Cabot Funeral Home in Woodstock, VT. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday February 15th from 12 to 4 pm at the Springfield Elks Club. Burial will be in Reading at a later date to be announced.
