Patricia "Pat" A. Barbour, 81, died peacefully surrounded by her family at home in Reading, Vermont on Friday June 24, 2022.
Pat was born on July 21, 1941 in Weathersfield, Vermont the daughter of Richard Sr. and Eva (Martin) Maxham.
Pat was hard working and always willing to pitch in to make sure things got done. She worked as an EMT for the Reading Fire Department, at the Reading Post Office, The Woodstock Book Bindery, Mac Molding, and the former Nursing home in Woodstock. Her favorite job was home baking spending many early mornings baking donuts and raspberry squares for the local stores.
Other actives that filled Pat's life were spinning wool, helping with the family sugaring operation, spending time at the family camp in Chittenden, and square dancing both locally and in places traveled like Nashville.
Pat is survived by her husband of 62 years Dennis Barbour Sr., her 4 sons; Dan, Dennis Jr., Sid, and Herb, her 12 grandchildren; Richard, Dylan, Travis, Elizabeth, Matthew, Morgan, Casandra, Thomas, Brendan, Devin, Tara, and Charlene, 22 great grandchildren, a sister Sheila Martel, a brother Richard Maxham, Jr., and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to her parents she is pre deceased by a son Ernie and two grand daughters; Angie and Megan.
A celebration of life and pot luck will be held on July 9 th from 11:am to 4:pm at the Reading Fire House. To assist in organizing the pot luck please check in with Missi by calling 802-281-0468.
