Pomfret, Vermont
Norma H. Moore, 86, died at her home in North Pomfret on January 12, 2016.
She was born on April 5, 1929 in North Pomfret, VT the daughter of Harry and Alvina (Mills) Harrington.
Norma graduated from Woodstock High School in 1947 and from Caslteton Normal School in 1949. She married Robert S. Moore in 1949. She taught school in Pomfret for 3 years before a long teaching career in South Royalton from which she retired in 1995.
Norma was the 4H horsemanship leader for many years. She enjoyed a great number of hobbies, loved to travel, square dancing, and going camping.
She is survived by her husband Robert of North Pomfret, VT, her son Sidney and Thomasa Moore of Santa Clara, CA, her son James and Cynthia Moore of Tunbridge VT, her son Wayne and Doreen Moore of North Pomfret, VT, her daughter Linda and Douglas Mountain of North Pomfret VT, 9 grand children and 2 great grandchild, her brother Walter and his wife Hazel Harrington of North Pomfret, VT, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she is pre deceased by a sister Joyce Dumas.
A graveside service will be held in the Hewittville Cemetery in North Pomfret, VT at a later date to be announced.
The family is requesting in lieu of flowers to make memorial donations to the charity of their favorite choice or to the National Parkinson's Foundation (www.parkinson.org)
