Quechee, Vermont

Nellie L. Bagley, 90, of Quechee died Friday May 12, 2017 at Genesis Health Care in Lebanon, New Hampshire.

Nellie was born on November 15, 1926 in Quechee, Vermont to Henry Bagley, Sr. and Florinda (Reed) Bagely.

Nellie was born in the farmhouse she can see from her present house on the one-acre piece of the hundred-acre farm her father owned. Nellie graduated from Hartford High School in 1944, and continued to work on the family farm. The rural Vermont life was hard, she used to have to help mow the grass in the field for hay, planting the corn crops and cutting it down to have feed for the cows and horses in the winter. Nellie would help her father with repairs and other chores on the farm.

Nellie was never married but enjoyed her nieces and nephews and grand nieces and grand nephews very much.

Nellie is survived by her three sisters; Katherine Koopman of Rochester, NH, Patricia Bagley of Quechee, VT, and Barbara Hanchett of Concord, NH and many nieces and nephews.

There will be a memorial visitation on Wednesday May 17th from 5pm to 7pm at the Cabot Funeral Home in Woodstock, VT a graveside service will be held on Thursday May 18th at 1:00pm in the Hilltop Cemetery in Quechee, VT.
