Miles Wayne
Walker
February 10, 1961 – August 6, 2020
Woodstock, VT
Miles Wayne Walker, 59, passed away on August 6 at Mt. Ascutney Hospital after a long illness. He was born February 10, 1961 in Hanover, N. H. to Wayne Miles and Muriel (Duby) Walker.
He was raised and attended school in Woodstock, where he began working for the Woodstock Inn. After graduating high school in 1978, he began working full time for the Inn, later taking positions at Jackson Hole, Wyoming and other resorts.
After he moved to Boston, MA. to work at a hotel there, he met Cathryn Peterson and together they lived in St. Croix, where they married and lived for 12 years (and a few hurricanes!). They separated and Miles returned to Woodstock and the Woodstock Inn where he worked until his illness made working impossible.
Miles was known for his wit and his charm, having many lifelong friendships. He was a loving uncle to his many nieces and nephews, always willing to lend a helping hand where he could.
Miles was predeceased by his parents, and his wife, Cathy. He is survived by three sisters, Cathryn Reed, Lebanon, N. H., Cynthia Walker, Bolton, VT, and Carol Walker, Bothell, WA. He leaves behind one brother, Andrew (Dan) Walker, East Randolph, VT.
Because of the COVID-19 pandemic there will be no memorial at this time.
