Mildred "Moo" Jane (Pulsifer) Whitney died Thursday July 21, 2011 at
Woodstock Terrace in Woodstock, Vermont.
She was born in February 13, 1924 in Woodstock, Vermont the daughter
of Walter C. and Margaret Luella (Eulas) Pulsifer.
She graduated from Woodstock High School, in 1942.
She married George "Ike" Whitney in 1942 and lived the remainder of her
life in Taftsville, Vermont.
Vivacious and outgoing Mildred was an active member of the Woodstock
Community. She was a lifetime member of Saint James Episcopal Church.
She was the Taftsville postmaster for over 25 years.
She was the Taftsville correspondent for the Vermont Standard for
Many years and She served on numerous local boards, committees, associations, and study groups.
Mildred is survived by her daughters Joan (Whitney) Mazyck of Dothan,
Alabama and Carol Whitney of South Royalton, Vt; two granddaughters
Kathryn Augusta Byrd of Alabaster, Alabama, and Zoe Whitney Mazyck of
Mobile, Alabama; one great grandson Charles Moody Byrd (born July 21,
2011); her sister Kathryn "Kitty" (Pulsifer) Eaton and many nieces and
nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Ike Whitney, her daughter
Helen Anne Whitney, and two brothers John T. Pulsifer, and Walter C.
Pulsifer, jr.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday July 28th at 11:00 am at the St. James Episcopal Church in Woodstock. Burial will following the Taftsville Cemetery. There will be no calling hours.
