Maxwell "Bun" Maxham, 98, died Sunday evening February 11, 2018 at the Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH.
He was born on August 21, 1919 in Bridgewater, Vermont the son of Turner and Crystal (Parker) Maxham.
He married Charlotte Strong on September 8, 1940 in Brownsville, Vermont. Bun, along with his wife ran a dairy farm on Brothers Road in Hartland for many years. They also ran a successful Maple Sugaring business shipping syrup all over the world.
Bun traveled to many fairs with his Oxen teams bringing home a number of blue ribbons. He remained a hard worker who enjoyed the land his entire life. He always cut, split, and stacked his wood by hand and was still driving his tractor and doing fieldwork at 95.
Bun is survived by his son Tim and his wife Peggy of Hartland, his daughter Judy and her husband Jean Helie of Springfield SC, his son Wade of Hartland, his daughter Wendy and husband Curt Barr of South Woodstock, many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren, his sister Norma Leonard of Sunapee, NH and many extended family. In addition to his wife and parents he is also pre deceased by 9 siblings; Ike, Ethel, Elaine, Vernon, Romma, Richard, Roger, John, and Julia.
A visitation will be held this Saturday February 17th from 1:pm to 3:pm at the Cabot Funeral Home in Woodstock, VT. A graveside service will be held in the Hartland Village Cemetery at a later date.
