Marjorie M. Holmes, 89, passed away peacefully on June 12, 2024 at the Jack Byrne Center in Lebanon, NH surrounded by her family.

Marjorie was born on May 24, 1935 in East Thetford, Vermont the daughter of Chauncey A. and Elsie M. (Porter) Hatch.

Marjorie graduated from Hanover (NH) High School in the class of 1954 while also working at the Local Pharmacy in Hanover. She later married Raymond Holmes on June 26, 1960, together they had four children. Marge spent many years raising her children while also working full time. She waited tables at Lou's Restaurant in Hanover (NH) for over 30 years where she was well known for her kindness, great service, and sense of humor. She later worked for the Mountain Creamery in Woodstock (VT) where she continued to be enjoyed by all the patrons.

Marge was an avid bowler, bowling well into her 70's. She also enjoyed volunteering at the Bugbee Senior Center in White River Jct. (VT) where she made many friends.

Marge is survived by her daughter Terri Sexton of Quechee, VT, a son Jeffrey (Tracy White) Holmes of South Woodstock (VT), a son Jason (Lisa Barton) Holmes of South Woodstock (VT), a number of grandchildren and great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents Marge is pre deceased by her husband Raymond Holmes, one son Gregory Holmes, a son-in-law Kris M. Sexton, Sr., and a brother Richard Hatch.

There will be a graveside service held on Saturday July 13, 2024 in the Riverside Cemetery in Woodstock, VT beginning at 3:00pm. A celebration of Marges life will immediately follow at the South Woodstock Fire Station.
