East Barnard
Margaret "Peg" Wesbrook, 96, died Tuesday September 30, 2014 at the Mertens House in Woodstock, Vermont.
Peg was born October 11, 1917 in Duluth, Minnesota the daughter of Donald McDermid and Elizabeth (Barney) Wesbrook.
Margaret was educated in Montreal Canada and at the Miss Woods Kindergarten and Primary Training School in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She spent 4 months at the Children's Hospital as a therapist and then 34 years teaching Kindergarten at the Hampstead School in Montreal, Canada. Peg moved to East Barnard, Vermont in 1971 and lived as a year round resident until a few years ago in her home known as "The Little Brick.
Peg was an honorary alumni, serving as treasurer and correspondent for the class of 1912 and 9 years as a class agent for Vassar College. She was a member of the National Grange, East Barnard Community Club and the East Barnard Church. She enjoyed handcrafts, painting, gardening, photography and carol singing.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday October 25th at the East Barnard Church at 2:00 pm. Burial will follow in the East Barnard Cemetery.
Those wishing may make memorial donations in Peg's name to the East Barnard Church or the Community Club of East Barnard.
