Lois Murray Lantman, 96, died peacefully Friday morning October 31, 2014 at the Mertens House in Woodstock, Vermont.
Lois was born on October 7, 1918 in Burlington, Vermont the daughter of Henry and Ruth (Burritt) Murray.
Lois graduated from Hinesburg High School in 1936 and the University of Vermont in 1940 with a teaching degree. In addition to raising 6 children, Lois taught at the Hinesburg Elementary School for many years.
Lois was dedicated to her family and was a very active member of the United Church of Hinesburg and the Eastern Star.
Lois is survived by her 6 children; Bonnie Atwood and husband Richard, Bill Lantman, Jon Lantman, Katy Wrigley and husband Lee, Bruce Lantman and wife Susan, Ruth Sandberg and husband Eric, 12 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren, and two sisters Shirley Obrien and Helen Devoid. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her husband of 60 years, Howard William Lantman in 1999.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday November 8th at 2:pm at the United Church of Hinesburg. Burial will be held privately in the Hinesburg Village Cemetery.
