Lawrence H. Woodward, 87, died December 24, 2013 at the Homestead in Woodstock, Vermont.
He was born in Woodstock on September 1, 1926 the son of John and Cyrena (Hoisington) Woodward.
Lawrence went to work at the Bridgewater Woolen Mill at a young age and then had a 27 year career working for Dartmouth College in Hanover, NH. In his later years he also worked for the Quechee Gorge area, the Radisson Hotel, and Bentley's restaurant.
Lawrence was an avid Boston Red Sox fan. He enjoyed bowling, horseshoes, and trips to the horse races and Foxwoods. He also spent many years enjoying family and friends company at the annual Memorial Day cookout.
Lawrence never married but was very close to his siblings, nieces and nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews. He had a great relationship with his great nephew Justin Woodward. He is pre deceased by his brothers, Floyd, Wallace, "Samie", George and Alfred Woodward and his sisters Pauline, Marion, Ethel, Grace and Mabel.
A visitation will be held on Friday evening from 6 to 8 PM with a funeral service on Saturday morning at 11:am both at the Cabot Funeral Home in Woodstock. Burial will be in the Mt Pleasant Cemetery in Bridgewater, VT.
