Josephine Blanchard, 91, died Tuesday evening March 1, 2011 at the Pines in Rutland, Vermont.
Josephine was born on March 30, 1919 in Sherburne, Vermont the daughter of Eli and Delphine (Lafayette) Blanchard.
She received her education at the Sherburne School, Mount St. Joseph High School, Castlton Normal School, and graduated from Beautician School in Burlington.
She worked as a beautician in White River Jct., and later owned her own shop in Sherburne. Josephine was also the town clerk of Sherburne for many years.
Josephine enjoyed reading, crocheting, knitting, and flaying the fiddle. She was a member of the local Grange and Maynard's Old Time Fiddlers.
Josephine is survived by her daughter Shirlene Charbeneau and her husband John of Stuart Drafts, VA, three grandchildren; Abigail Charbeneau, Anne Zapanta and her husband Philip, Alison Bryant and her husband Richy, and two great grandchildren; Jonathan and Rebeka Zapanta, and a number of nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents, five brothers; Alwyn, Frank, Donald, Israel, and Rudolph, and three sisters; Dorothy, Shirley and Delphine.
