Joseph A. Dion, 75, formerly of South Woodstock, Vermont, died Wednesday November 6, 2013 at the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, New Hampshire

Joe was born on May 2, 1938 in Attleborough, Massachusetts the son of Joseph W. and Margaret (Voikos) Dion.

Joe graduated from Attleborough High School in 1956 and the University of Maine in 1960 phi Beta Cappa and a member of Theta Chi.

Joe's career began at L.G. Balfour Company in New York. Moving to Vermont in 1972 Joe continued his professional life with his own company, Vermont Associated Brokers, and with the Ford Insurance Company both of Woodstock, VT. Joe and Peggy moved to Walpole, NH in 2002.

Joe was involved in Town and Community organizations and Governance in both Woodstock, VT and Walpole, NH. In addition to his other involvements he was a dedicated and involved Mason, member of the Eastern Star, the American Legion Ora E Paul Post # 24 in Woodstock , and the Walpole Grange. Joe enjoyed hunting and fishing, but most of all spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Joe is survived by his wife of 50 years Peggy, his two children Beth Hoffman and Joseph A. Dion, and his three grandchildren Michael and Grace Hoffman and Matthew Dion.

A memorial visitation will be held on Friday evening November 8th from 6 to 8 pm at the Cabot Funeral Home in Woodstock, VT. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday November 9th at 9:00 am at our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church in Woodstock, VT followed by burial in the Methodist Cemetery in South Woodstock.
