John and Jean Panoushek died as they lived, together on July 24, 2023.

John was born on February 17, 1944 in Ticonderoga, NY the son of Stanley Panoushek and Norma (Mingo) Brown and Jean was born on May 23, 1949 in Lebanon, NH the daughter of Edgar and Gladys (Martin) Fullerton. The two met at a young age and spent the rest of their lives together, always, including 57 years of marriage.

Jean was an avid reader and enjoyed many crafts including; knitting, crocheting, puzzles, and attending quilting and flower shows. Like her mother Jean was often found centering her life around caring for children.

John enjoyed both antique and racing cars including a few years spent as a race car driver in his youth. He also enjoyed tractor and ox pulls, old movies, as well as science fiction and fantasy stories.

John and Jean enjoyed time together, often taking day trips throughout the state of Vermont, caring for animals of all kinds, and most of all spending time with their grandchildren.

Their immediate family includes their daughter Stephanie Nakamura and her children; John and Matthew, their son Stephen, his wife Courtney Panoushek and their children; Mera and Miles. John and Jean leave behind a large number of extended family and friends.

A gathering to celebrate John and Jeans lives will be held on Saturday August 19th from 2:pm to 4:pm at the South Woodstock Fire Station. The family asks that everyone brings a memory of John and Jean. Memories can be recorded in a memory book at the Fire station or on the Cabot Funeral home website so their grandchildren will have them forever. Those wishing may bring baked goods to the celebration for sharing. Burial will be held privately at a later date.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to the American Kidney Fund (kidneyfund.org)
