Obituary

Bridgewater, Vermont John E. Lynds, age 72, died Saturday November 8th at his home in Bridgewater, Vermont. John was born on the family farm in Plymouth, VT on June 28th 1942 to Laurence and Gladys Lynds. In 1964 he married Lillian Sandra Hadley and settled in Bridgewater where they raised their four sons John, Aaron, Peter and Timothy. John started out working for Sailor Brothers Construction and later established his career as a carpenter at A.W. Frizzell and Sons where he was employed until his retirement 2009. John was often sought out for his skills as a carpenter and worked on many of the historic buildings in the Woodstock area including the restoration of the Billings Farm and Museum. Outside work when he wasn't helping friends and family with building projects, he could often be found mowing fields, plowing snow and care taking for local property owners. John had many hobbies throughout his life including hunting, fishing and gardening. Later in life he discovered he also quite liked traveling in Europe ( he had some pretty good photos to prove it), complicated puzzles and spending time with his eight grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents, two brothers and a sister. He is survived by his wife Sandy, his children and their families, two of his brothers and their families. A memorial service will be held on Saturday November 15th at 1 pm at the Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Bridgewater followed by a gathering of friends and family at the Killington Snowmobile Tours building on Route 100a in Plymouth.
