Jeffrey "Heffer" Morgan, 58, passed from complications of cancer on June 1, 2024 at his home, the Jenne Farm, in Reading, Vermont.
He was born on July 21, 1965 in Bennington, Vermont. He lived in Naples, Florida where he was one of the original Naples Park Sharks. He returned to Reading, Vermont and attended Reading Elementary School where he was class president and received his life long nickname "Heffer" from Floyd Allen. Jeff graduated from Woodstock Union High School with the class of 1983. After school he was employed by Erwin Rogers where he learned the art of painting, later he worked for Glen Soule and then with his brother John building many fine barns together.
Jeff was always the life of the party, he loved his dogs, sugaring and farm life and was an accomplished horse shoe player. He also enjoyed watching the Raiders, NASCAR, and motorcycle racing.
Jeff is survived by his brothers; John of Reading, VT, Jamie (Lanie) of South Woodstock, VT, a sister JoAnn (Dave) of South Woodstock, VT, 2 nephews; James Morgan of Hawaii, and Lucas Morgan of Woodstock, VT, 3 nieces; Britni Morgan of Jersey City, NJ, Chelsea Morgan of South Royalton, VT, and Jenne Morgan of Reading, VT and 3 great nephews. Aunts; Patsy Blume (Bucky) of N.C., Linda Kidder (Bob) of Windsor, Jane Spooner (Dale) of Woodstock , cousins and many, many friends. He was predeceased by his mother, Betsy (Jenne) Morgan, grandfather Floyd Jenne Sr. and an uncle Floyd Jenne Jr.
A celebration of Jeff's life will be held at the Jenne Farm on June 22, 2024 from 12:00 noon until 6:00pm.
