Irma C. Praetsch, 73, of Woodstock, Vermont died at her home on September 6, 2017 of stage 4-lung cancer.
Daughter of Martin and Gertrude (Champney) Lavalette and sister of four older brothers was born on September 22, 1944 in Bolton, Vermont.
The family moved to Sharon, Vermont February 1948 where she grew up and attended the Sharon Elementary School and south Royalton High School.
She married Richard A. Praetsch of Needham, Massachusetts's son of Robert and Margaret (Ziegler) Preatsch, on January 5, 1963.
Was a member of the Sharon Congregational Church and Lady Washington Chapter, No. 86, Order of the Eastern Star, Chelsea, and Vermont. She was a 50 plus year member of the Order.
Irma and her husband lived in Needham, Massachusetts for three years where their two oldest daughters were born. Then they bought a home in Milford, Massachusetts where they lived until 1972 moving back to Sharon, Vermont, Where they lived for over 30 years before moving to White River Jct., Vermont then to Woodstock, Vermont in 2007.
Proceeded by her parents and oldest brother Sgt. Harold J. Lavalette of the U.S.M.C. and a nephew David Lavalette.
Enjoyed cooking, taking care of their home, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, gardening, reading, knitting, hunting, fishing, and crafts on her computer.
Her husband of 54 years, Three daughters; Linda Moore and husband Leslie of Sharon, VT, Wendy Praetsch and partner Richard Broughton of White River Jct., VT and Paula Welch and husband Jerry of Tunbridge, VT.
Eight grandchildren; Matthew, Kenneth, Jonathan, Nathaniel, Rachel, and Andrew Moore of Sharon, VT and Thomas and Robert Ingham of Tunbridge, VT.
4 granddaughter-in-laws; Sylvia, Willow and Karina Moore of Sharon, VT, Lindsey Ingham of Tunbridge, VT.
4 great grandsons; Maple, Meadow, Ripple, and Mason of Sharon, VT.
3 great granddaughters; Eleora and Heidi of Sharon, VT, and Sabrina Ingham of Tunbridge, VT.
Her brothers; Donald Lavalette and wife Patricia of Claremont, NH, Roland Lavalette and his wife Evelyn of Franklin, NH, Gerald Lavalette and his wife Joyce of Concord, NH.
Many nieces and nephews.
