Iris Lucy Hickory, died Monday Dec. 17th at her home in Quechee, Vermont.

She was born August 31, 1933 in Sherburne, Vermont the daughter of Irving and Lucy (Kitchen) Neil.

Iris grew up and went to school in Sherburne until she married Paul Hickory and together they moved to Quechee, Vermont where she would live the rest of her life. She worked for many years at Timken Co, know then as the Split Ball Bearing Co. in Lebanon, NH.

Iris had many interests including flowers, quilting, and sewing. She was also very musical and an accomplished pianist. She enjoyed animals, but her greatest joy was her family and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Iris is survived by a daughter, Beverly Copp of Hartford, VT, a son
Steven Hickory of West Hartford, VT, a daughter Joan Spaulding of
Hartland, VT, 8 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, a sister Elizabeth Wells of West Hartford, VT and several nieces and nephews.

She is pre deceased by her husband Paul, a brother Roger Neil, and two sisters; Evalina Martin and Marjorie Wells.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday December 20th at 11:00 am at the Cabot Funeral Home in Woodstock, Vermont Rev. Janice Chilek will officiate. A graveside service will be held in the Baker Hill Cemetery in Bridgewater Center, VT in the spring. There will be no calling hours.
