Homer Allen Welch, 97, died Saturday morning May 23, 2015 at Cedar Hill Health Care in Windsor, Vermont.

Homer was born on April 22, 1918 in Burns, Wyoming the son of Homer James Augustus and Katherine Ethel (Rhodes) Welch.

Homer served in the US Army during World War II. He returned back to Vermont and worked a few years at a turkey farm in Brandon, Vermont and then worked 40 plus years at the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co. in Windsor, Vermont. Although Homer settled in Hartland for many years he also lived in Santa Rosa, CA and Las Vegas, NV for short spans of time.

Homer was a "jack of all trades" who enjoyed both gardening and reading.

He is survived by his 3 children; Philip Emery Welch of Milton, VT, Peggy Welch Walker of Newbury, NH, Richard Homer Welch of Billings, MT, his 4 grandchildren; Tracy Walker Jordan of Wilmot, NH, Tabitha Walker of Newbury, NH, Christina Walker of New London, NH, Philip Emery Welch, JR of Burlington, VT, his 3 great grandchildren; Dawson Walker Curry of Newbury, NH, Isabelle Katherine Jordan of Wilmot, NH, and Adeline Raven Jordan of Wilmot, NH. He is predeceased by his wife of 58 years, Katherine Temple Welch, as well as 7 brothers and sisters.

A memorial service will be held at the Taftsville Chapel on Saturday, May 30, 2015 at 11:00am.
