Obituary

On August 18, 2020, the world lost a beautiful soul when Harry Emerson Jones Jr., 68, passed away at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH. Harry was born in Quincy, MA, and grew up in Weymouth where he graduated from Weymouth North High School.

While raising his family in Pembroke, MA, he worked in the sheet metal industry for the Sheet Metal Workers Local Union 17 for over 35 years before retiring. Harry had many lifelong friends, regularly staying in touch with all of them, whose phone numbers he kept in a little black phone book. Harry would make daily calls to his friends and family, checking in on them. He would start at the letter A in his book and continue through to the letter Z, only to start over again when he reached the last person. Harry was the epitome of happiness and kindness. If you were friends with Harry, you knew you had a friend for life.

He spent the past 10 years living his life to the fullest in his Vermont family home where he cherished the relationships he built. Among the most dearest to him was the times he spent at gatherings and events with the Potwin family.

An avid outdoorsman, Harry fully embraced his Vermont lifestyle where he enjoyed spending his time hunting, fishing, and using his hands always crafting things. Ever the tradesman, Harry could build or fix anything he touched and there was not a household project he couldn't complete.

Harry is survived by his loving partner and best friend, Suzanne King; his former wife and close friend Carol Jones of Hanson, MA; sister, Arlene and brother-in-law Jim Anderton of Weymouth, MA; sister, Kathleen (Kit) and brother-in-law Mike Napsy of Pembroke, MA; his beloved children; daughter Jennilee and son-in-law Chris Saucier of Hanson, MA; daughter Kristin Jones and partner Roger Brackett of Bridgewater, MA; son Anthony Jones of Hanson, MA; and granddaughter, Allison Mann of Bridgewater, MA; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and many, many friends.

In the same way Harry went through life, as a kind and generous person, he made his last act of kindness by donating his organs and giving life to others.

Harry is at peace with his oldest son Harry, his mother Phyllis and father Harry Jones Sr. He will be missed by family, friends, and all that were lucky enough to have known him and were blessed to have had opportunities to create loving memories with him.
