Obituary

WEST WINDSOR — Harold "Hal" Frederick Glock passed away Sunday evening June 11, 2017 of heart failure. He was surrounded by his family.

Hal was born in Sheffield, Massachusetts on March 8, 1948, son of Harold and Hazel (George) Glock. They lived on "the farm" with his two older sisters Connie and Meg and Grandma George. In 1956, they moved to Yorktown Heights, New York, to be closer to New York City where his dad worked at the NY Stock Exchange for 47 years.

As a young man, Hal started his own lawn mowing business in the neighborhood and before long, his business grew immensely. He continued his business until he left for the University of Massachusetts where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Landscape Architecture.

After graduating, he worked at Rosedale Nursery in White Plains, New York for many years until he met Linda Ferguson in Vermont in 1982. He and Linda married on June 22, 1984 and have lived in Vermont ever since on their horse farm and welcomed their daughter, Erin on September 9, 1986. He worked odd jobs for a short time before starting at the Woodstock Country Club as the Golf Course Foreman where he stayed and retired after 26 years.

Hal enjoyed riding his motorcycle, vacationing to Florida to visit family and bringing his daughter, Erin, to Disney World. As Erin grew, he enjoyed attending all of her sports events and band concerts. He also spent much time horseback riding and carriage driving with Erin and Linda.

After retiring, he enjoyed helping neighbors, puttering around the farm, working on projects and tinkering on his forever wanted 1971 Triumph TR6. He also loved the slot machines at nearby casinos and an occasional vacation to Las Vegas.

Hal is survived by his wife of 33 years, Linda, daughter, Erin and her husband Chris, and his grandson, Sebastian, sister Connie and her husband Art and sister Meg and many other relatives.

Donations in his name can be made to The Lucy MacKenzie Humane Society, 4832 Route 44, West Windsor, VT 05089, where he adopted many loving family dogs over the years.

Local arrangements are under the direction of the Cabot Funeral Home. An online guest book can be found at www.cabotfh.com.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, June 17, 2017 at 1:00p.m. at the South Woodstock Fire House. All are welcome.
