Bridgewater Corners, VT

Gladys B. Deatte, 92, died Sunday evening August 19, 2018 at the Gill Odd Fellows Home in Ludlow, Vermont.

She was born on April 12, 1926 in South Pomfret, Vermont the daughter of Rodney C. and Bertha B. (Johnson) Bartlett.

Gladys moved to Bridgewater Corners in 1979. She began housekeeping at the Woodstock Inn before spending 40 years being employed by the Homestead. She was a proud life long member of the Bridgewater Grange.

In addition to her parents Gladys is pre deceased by two sisters; Beatrice Sumner and Thelma Stearns Wilkins, 4 brothers; Bernard (Bunny), Stuart, Stanley, and Forrest, her daughter and son in law Marie Ann and David Oakes, and a very special Fiancé Eric F. Sayers, and a grandson Thomas L. Hance, II

She is survived by two daughters; Yvonne Hance Delong of Rutland, VT, and Connie (Stephen) Burnham of White Rivers Jct., VT, a brother Bernie Bartlett of Sunapee, NH, 4 grandsons; David, Michael, Raymond, and Jeffrey, a granddaughter Fawn, 9 great grandchildren, 9 great great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday September 1, 2018 at 1:00pm in the Prosper Cemetery in Woodstock, Vermont.

Those wishing may make memorial donations to; the Bridgewater Grange (c/o Alice Paglia), the Bridgewater Congregational Church, the Thompson Senior Center, or the Charity of ones choice.
