Woodstock, Vermont

Frederick "Ted" Lorin Staples, 90, passed away at his home in Pomfret, Vermont on October 4, 2022.

Ted was born on April 28, 1932 in Woodstock, Vermont the son of George and Beatrice (Pretty) Staples.

He graduated from Woodstock Union High School and served in the US Army before returning home to work for Ralph Harrington's Market. Ted later began a long career working in local bookstores retiring from the Yankee Bookshop, a store that was in the very space of Harrington's market years before.

Ted enjoyed many things over the years; taking countless cruises with his late wife Joan, spending time at the Thompson Center, attending Ox pulls, coaching little league in Wilder, Bowling in Woodstock and Hanover, serving on the Woodstock School Board, being an avid reader, but most of all spending time with his wife Joan their children and grandchildren.

Ted is survived by his son Gary Staples, his two grandchildren Kate and Dan Benetti and spouse Pooja, his two great grandchildren Rhys and Sai,

In addition to his parents he is pre deceased by his wife Joan, his daughters Lynn and Amy, his brothers; George Jr., John, and Dick, and his sister Mary Cameron.

A graveside service will be held in the Cushing Cemetery on the corner of River and Cloudland Road on Saturday November 5 th at 1:00pm.
