Edward Newall Stevens, 99, died early Monday morning April 11th at the Mountain View Center in Rutland, Vermont
Edward was born on September 11, 1916 in North Hero, Vermont the son of George Henry and Sarah Eulalia (Reed) Stevens.
Edward lived his earlier years in West Bridgewater and then in 1967 built a home in Mendon where he lived the rest of his life. He married Sondra Robinson on January 1st, 1973. He previously owned a sawmill in West Bridgewater, worked as a logger using his own horses to skid out the logs, worked in the building/construction business for others and himself. He enjoyed building furniture for family and friends. He was an excellent craftsman.
Edward was a member of the Grand Lodge of Vermont F & M. He loved horses, dogs, hunting and dancing.
He is survived by his wife Sondra Jean Robinson Stevens of Mendon, Vermont, and several neices and nephews. In addition to his parents he is pre deceased by 2 brothers; Charles and William, and a sister Edna.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday April 17th at 1:30pm at the Bridgewater Congregational Church in Bridgewater, Vermont. Burial will be held privately in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery at a later date.
