Bridgewater Corners, Vermont

Edith Lockwood Stevens passed away after a brief illness at the Rutland Regional Medical Center on May 29, 2013 she was 92 years old. She was born August 4, 1920, the daughter of Charles and Edith (Morse) Lockwood in Woodstock, Vermont. She married Charles Stevens, July 21, 1944 in Madison, Wisconsin. Edith enjoyed watching Hummingbirds but most of all family gatherings. She is survived by three sons, Edwin C. Stevens of Grand Mound, IA, and his wife Kim, Thomas J. Stevens and his wife Mary and John W. Stevens and his wife Linda, both of Bridgewater Corners, VT. One daughter, Joanne S. Earle, and husband Doug, of North Clarendon, VT. She is survived by 14 Grandchildren, and 12 Great Grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Charles Stevens in 1977 , three daughters, Sally Stevens, Linda Stevens, and Frances E. Lamson, one son Harvey Stevens, one grandson, Joseph Earle, six sisters, Frances Merrill, Hazel Tracy, Ruth Reed, and Lucy Madden, and Doris Lockwood Julia DeRosia, 4 brothers, Harvey Lockwood, Charles Lockwood, George Lockwood, and William Lockwood and her dear friend Russell Smith of Litchfield, IL. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday June 4th at 1:00 pm in the Mt. Pleasant cemetery in Bridgewater, VT. Friends wishing may express condolences by visiting cabotfh.com
