Earle Brian Potter, Sr. passed away at age 79 on May 27th 2012 at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center following a battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his beloved wife and his wonderful children and grandchildren, and his brother Roland. He was born April 17, 1933 in North Pomfret VT, the son of George and Helen (Kenyon) Potter. He was the next to the youngest of 7 children. On May 25,1957 he married Phyllis Laurie who survives him. He graduated from the Woodstock Union High School. He served two years in the US Army. After his military tour, he farmed in Cornish NH. From there he went to Renehan-Akres as a plumber. He then became a self-employed plumber.
His interests included his ponies and pony pulling, sugaring, hunting, Boston Red Sox, Boston Celtics, New York Giants, and the love of he and his sons and grandsons camp in Maine. Not to exclude his vacations with his wife to southern Maine and other spots, including upstate New York to family friends the Edneys.
He is survived by his beloved wife Phyllis Potter; three daughters, Debbie and husband Kevin Osgood of Reading, Laurie West of Florida, youngest daughter Gail and husband Brad Devine of West Woodstock; two sons, Corey and Maybe Potter of Quechee, Earle Potter Jr. and wife Debi of Barnard; 14 grandchildren, Samantha Berrio and husband Bradford, Darci Blanchard and husband Abe, Lexi Osgood, Brandi, Brittany, Melanie, and Monica Devine, Cody, Hannah, and Libby Potter, Kyle and Megan Potter, Sydney and Sierra West; and 4 great grandchildren Hailey and Landon Berrio, Addison Blanchard, and Macey Wasilenski; Sheila Murray who is like a daughter and Jimmy Potter who is like a son; brother Roland Potter and sister Norma Vincent, both of Sharon; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Earle Potter was preceded in death by parents George and Helen Potter, brothers Kenneth, Raymond, and Everette, and sister Dorothy.
The family wishes to send many thanks to Cabot Funeral Home and the DHMC doctors and staff. Every trip he took to Dartmouth, his daughter Debbie and his wife Phyllis were with him.

Services will be held Monday June 4th, at the North Pomfret Congregational Church at 1:00 pm.
