Dennis Stutely Brown, 70, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, June 16 th at his home in Queeche, VT.
He was born at Windsor Hospital on April 3 rd , 1949, the youngest son of Raymond ("Brownie") Brown and Ruth Rogers Brown.
He graduated from Woodstock High School and Champlain College in Burlington, VT, where he met his wife, the former Paula Albert of Berlin, NH. They were married on July 17 th , 1971 in Berlin, NH. They had two daughters together, Teressa and Leslie Brown.
Dennis enlisted in the US Army and was first stationed at Fort Riley, Kansas and later in Soul, Korea working in the US military hospital there. He lived in Florida and Washington DC prior to returning to Woodstock in 1984 to raise his two daughters, both graduates of Woodstock Union High School.
Dennis was retired from administrative work at the VA Hospital in White River Junction. He was still an active volunteer with the VA and enjoyed working part-time in the summer months at Quechee Gorge Gifts.
He is predeceased by his parents, Raymond and Ruth Brown, and nephew, John Brown.
Dennis is survived by his wife Paula Brown of Taftsville, VT, daughter Teressa Felice Brown and son-in-law Temple Worrell of Fort Smith, Arkansas; daughter Leslie Paulette Brown, of Washington DC; sister Cynthia Hilliard of Carrollton, Georgia; brother Sanford "Sandy" Brown and his wife Cindy of Kannapolis, North Carolina. He is also survived by nephew John Hilliard II, his wife Carla and their children, Zac and Amanda; niece Shannon Hilliard McGuyer her husband Robert and her children Harrison and Wyatt Moore; niece Melissa Brown Butcher, her husband Keith and their son Deven; and niece Lindsey Brown and her son Jericco. One maternal aunt, Beatrice Grover of Brattleboro also survives him.
A memorial visitation will be held Friday evening, June 28th from 6:00-8:00 pm at the Cabot Funeral Home in Woodstock, VT. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, June 29 th at Riverside Cemetery in Woodstock, VT with a reception to follow at the Thompson Senior Center.
