David William Mordecai b. 12/29/41, son of the late Thomas Mordecai and Mary Cerveny Mordecai, a resident of Plymouth, Vermont passed away comfortably on August 11, 2013. David was ushered along with compassionate care by Susan and William who were supported with the loving guidance of the 5th floor nursing team at Rutland Regional Medical Center. In his earliest days and into adulthood David enjoyed each moment on his family farm, Westbrook Farm, in Great River, NY. David attended the College of Emporia, Emporia Kansas. It was at that time he married Patricia Kennedy, together the settled a home in Saltaire, on Fire Island, NY, David was predeceased by Patricia and their son Matthew. In 1985 David married Susan Egbert, together they settled in Plymouth VT and raised their son, William. While living in Vermont, David was the Rural Letter Carrier in Ludlow, for the most part he enjoyed being out in his Jeep delivering the mail. David enjoyed many other things in life, the New York Yankees, Dallas Cowboys, reading non-fiction, The NY Post, working in his yard, travel adventures and sharing a meal with Susan and William. David was a man who was comfortable speaking his mind. Memorial Service will be held Friday, August 16, 2013, 10 AM at the Tyson Church, Dublin Road, Ludlow VT, a brief reception will follow at the Echo Lake Inn, Tyson Road, Ludlow VT.
