Reading, Vermont
David Benoit passed away unexpectedly at his home in South Reading, Vermont on January 17, 2013. David was born on March 26, 1954 in Boston, Mass. David loved to spend his time working on old cars, especially Volkswagens. Always ready to entertain the group with a story or joke (No matter how inappropriate it may be), David had a passion for theater, good music and life. He loved to travel with his wife and dreamed of cruising the canals and rivers of Europe. He instilled in his children his strong work ethic. He lived to make the lives of his family easier -from buying them their first cars, towing them out of ditches, household repairs and cooking for the family.
David is survived by his wife Rachel Benoit of 31 years, his son and daughter-in-law, Matt and Kelly Benoit; Daughter, Elisabeth Benoit; Son, Sam Benoit; his second daughters, Britt Hogstrom and Jennifer Avery; his beloved granddaughter, Stella Lucy Benoit; his parents, Raymond and Gilda Benoit; brothers and sisters: Paul Benoit, Rita and Jack McCue, John and Nancy Benoit, Maritsa Benoit and Susan and Matthew Roswell. He also leaves behind his 18 nieces and nephews and countless other children who thought of him as dad. He was predeceased by his younger brother Raymond Benoit. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the YOH theater players in care of Woodstock Union High School or to the Haven in White River Junction.
Services will be held on Sunday January 20th at 11:00 am at the Temple Shir Shalom in Woodstock, Vermont.
