Daniel O. Atwood, SR, 73, died Friday evening May 15th at his home in Woodstock, Vermont following a long illness and surrounded by family.

Dan was born on March 24, 1942 in Hanover, New Hampshire the son of Lloyd H. and Pauline (Bassett) Atwood.

Dan graduated from Woodstock Union High School in 1960. He served in the U.S. Army and then returned to Woodstock to begin a 40 plus year career as a carpenter. He worked many of those 40 plus years for A.W. Frizzell Co. and later for Hank Salvelberg..

Dan enjoyed hunting, camping, snowmobiling and was enthusiastic about guns and cars.

He is survived by his wife Diane Pulling Atwood, his children; Dan Jr. and Dale Atwood, Amy Palmer, Connie Sprague, Gail Havill, and Tom Havill, and 12 grandchildren. He was pre deceased by a sister Carol McGrail.
