Cynthia Brown Hilliard, age 81, of Carrollton, GA, passed away peacefully in the presence of her children on Friday November 22, 2024, at Piedmont Hospital in Newnan, GA.
Born on January 14, 1943, in Windsor County, Vermont.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Raymond (Brownie) and Ruth Brown and brother Dennis Brown.
A beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister she is survived by her children: Joe Hilliard (Carla), and Shannon McGuyer (Robert): her grandchildren, Zac Hilliard (Caroline), Amanda Hudson (Corey), and Harrison and Wyatt Moore, and one great-grandchild, Jackson. She is also survived by brother Sanford Brown (Cindy), sister-in-law Paula Brown and four nieces, Melissa and Lindsey (daughters of Sanford), Teressa and Leslie (daughters of Dennis and Paula).
Cynthia was a graduate of WUHS class of 1960 and graduated from the University of Vermont in 1964 with a degree that led to a long and respected career as a Registered Dietician. She dedicated much of her professional life to serving in Health and Long-Term Care facilities, where she combined her compassion and expertise to improve the lives of others.
In retirement, Cynthia pursued her passion for genealogy and quilting. She was an active and dedicated member of the West Georgia Quilt Guild, where she served in many roles including President. Her love of quilting also led her to serve on the board of the Southern Quilt and Textile Museum in Carrollton, where she helped preserve the rich history of textile arts.
A graveside service will be held at 10:00 am Friday June 6, 2025, at Riverside Cemetery in Woodstock, Vermont, with Cabot Funeral Home directing.
Cynthia's kindness, strength, and creativity will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
