Charlotte A. (Howard) Barr, 82, passed away Tuesday, January 28 in Melbourne, Florida surrounded by her family.

Charlotte was born in Hanover, NH at the old Mary Hitchcock Hospital on September 26, 1931. She lived in Palm Bay, Florida since 1992 and returned to where she grew up in her beloved village of West Woodstock, VT in 2003.

Charlotte was the daughter of F. Clifton Howard and Mildred Cowdrey of South Woodstock, VT.

Charlotte worked at the Norwalk Hour Newspaper (CT) in a middle management position returning in 1992. Besides being a homemaker and antique dealer for most of her life, she also took time to raise Morgan horses and was a competitive 100 mile trail rider in Woodstock, VT, NY, NJ, VA, ME and FL in her younger years.

Charlotte was a member of the National Society DAR over 40 years chapters "Abigail Wright Chamberlain", Melbourne, FL and Colonel Israel Converse, Randolph, VT. She has two ancestral Revolutionary War Patriots; one buried in Bunker Hill Cemetery, Pomfret, VT and another in Wilder, VT. She also has two decedents on the Howard/Cowdrey family side traceable to the Mayflower.

She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Glenn, brother, Frances Howard, Sons; Bruce, James, daughters; Catherine, Glenna, Leslie, Jennifer, 15 grand children and 13 great-grandchildren.

There will be a graveside service and burial in the Highland Cemetery, Woodstock, VT in May to be announced by the family.
