Charles B. Lutz, 92, died Saturday morning May 2, 2015 at Genesis Elder Care in Lebanon, New Hampshire.
Charles was born on February 1, 1923 in Pottstown, Pennsylvania the son of Oscar and Daisy Lutz.
Charles served in the US Army during World War 2 before acquiring a masters degree in Education from Temple University. He worked for 15 years for G.E. conducting military space research. After leaving G.E. Charles spent 20 years as the apprentice coordinator for the State of New Jersey. He retired in 1985 and in 1987 he and his wife Ruth (who he married Aug. 23, 1952) moved to Barnard Vermont. In 2005 Charles and Ruth moved to Woodstock Terrace, Ruth passed away in 2012.
While retired in Vermont Charles volunteered as a councilor at the Windsor Prison, was an active member of the Woodstock First Congregational Church serving as an Elder and Deacon, volunteered for Gideon's International, and enjoyed gardening and caning chairs.
Charles is survived by two nephews, Ted and Frederick Housel, 5 grand nieces, 2 grand nephews, and many good friends. In addition to his wife he was pre deceased by his sister Emma.
A committal service with military honors will be held on Wednesday October 11, 2017 in the Vermont Veterans Cemetery in Randolph, Vermont at a later date.
