Rev. Canon Donald E. Boyer, 80, died at his home on July 15, 2014 of natural causes with his wife Marcia at his side.
He was born on March 6, 1934 in Worcester, MA the son of Ernest and Willamina (Clarke) Boyer.
He was a graduate of Westboro High School, received his BA from Sewanee and his bachelor of Theology from Berkley Divinity at Yale.
In 1958 he served as 3rd cerate at St. Paul's Church in Burlington, VT, as Chaplain at St Anselm Chapel, University of Vermont, was Canon to the Ordinary and became Dean of the Cathedral Church of St. Paul and in 1983 became rector of St. James Church in Woodstock where he served until 1999.
He is survived by his wife Marcia, his 4 children; Elizabeth, Grace, John, and Donald, a brother Norman, his former wife Linda, 7 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren.
Besides his family he loved books, music, and his cats. He longed for the glorious return of the British Empire.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday July 19, 2014 at 4:pm at St. James Episcopal Church in Woodstock.
