Obituary

North Pomfret, Vermont
Candle Klampert, 73, of North Pomfret, VT passed away peacefully on August 10, 2020 at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center surrounded by love and family.
She was born on March 12, 1947 in St.Louis, Missouri and raised in Southern California.
Candle was a world traveler and could light up a whole room with her bright blue eyes, beautiful smile and gregarious nature. She settled in North Pomfret in the 70's with her husband at the time, Mark Klampert, and her daughter, Vyasa Eden. There they farmed sheep, a horse, and chickens, each of which she named and loved. In 1980, they had a son, Rahm Judah. Her home and her family meant the world to her and she loved with her whole heart.
Candle opened her home and heart to many people during her life at the original Funny Farm. There was always a place for those who needed it. She was mother to many, grandmother to a few, sister, neighbor, nurse, therapist, and friend to all. She loved to cook and always had something to enjoy and offer to her loved ones. She was an avid gardener and was talented at making preserves, putting food away for the harsh Vermont winters and for gifting to neighbors and friends.
She worked hard, rising at the crack of dawn to care for the animals and the farm and then off to work and serve her community and family. Candle spent most of her working life as a caregiver providing comfort and support for the elderly and disabled. She carried an immense amount of passion and pride for her animals and the farm as a whole and always found a way to make it work. She was the embodiment of a strong, independent, modern woman farmer. A true Vermont homesteader.
Candle studied various religions throughout her life and travels. It was her acceptance of Jesus Christ in to her heart that gave her the faith, peace and joy she had been searching for. She would often quote stories and scripture from the bible, begin every meal with prayer, and end each of her answering machine messages, which she updated daily, reminding everyone "God loves ya!"
Through all of her hard work and dedication to family and farm, Candle still made time to enjoy her life. One would often find her sitting down by the river enjoying a swim or the serenity of the moving water, lounging in her backyard listening to bullfrogs and watching her birds, playing in the garden harvesting her dinner, or dancing in the kitchen waving incense around talking to her animals. These are a few of the ways those who knew candle will remember her. She saw beauty in all of God's creatures.
She is cherished and will be missed by many. She is survived by; her husband James Emery; Her son, Rahm Klampert; Grandchildren, Judah, Alexis and Logan; and many close friends to whom she was family.
The graveside service will be held at the Riverside Cemetery in Woodstock, Vt at 1 P.M. on August 29, 2020.  Masks will be required and social distancing observed.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Cabot Funeral Home in Woodstock. An online guest book can be found at cabotfh.com
